Elderbus?
- Elderbus is a private, non-profit paratransit
transportation company that is under contract
with the Worcester Regional Transit Authority
(WRTA) to provide transportation to the
elderly and disabled in South Central
Massachusetts.

serve?
- Elderbus now serves 21 towns in South Central
Massachusetts. They are: Barre, Brimfield,
Brookfield, East Brookfield, North Brookfield,
West Brookfield, Charlton, Douglas, Dudley,
Holland, New Braintree, Oakham, Princeton,
Rutland, Southbridge, Spencer, Sturbridge,
Sutton, Wales, Warren and Webster.

- What type of vehicles do you use?
- Elderbus uses full size vans. Their capacity is 9 passengers. All of these vans are equipped with
wheelchair lifts.
- Do your drivers have any
special training?
- All our drivers are trained in Sensitivity
Training,
- Defensive Driving, Emergency Procedures, Lift and Securement,
and Passenger Assistance.

Elderbus?
- It is the goal of SCM Elderbus to provide safe
and secure transportation to the elderly and
disabled citizens in our service area.

- When was Elderbus founded?
- Elderbus was founded in 1971 and incorporated in 1974 by Dr.
George Casaubon, a surgeon at Harrington Memorial Hospital,
Southbridge. The express purpose of starting this service was to
provide transportation for the elderly for their medical and
hospital visits.
